Bulk Pickup Collection Schedule
The Mayor and City Council will be considering changes to the City's refuse,
recycling and yard waste programs during the Fiscal Year 2012 budget process.
Any approved changes will become effective on July 1, 2012. Check the City of
Annapolis website, www.Annapolis.gov, in June for collection schedules for the
months of July through December 2012.
* Bulk Pick-Up for residents with Monday/Thursday regular collection schedule will be Wednesdays....
January 18 and April 18.
* Bulk Pick-Up for residents with Tuesday/Friday regular collection schedule will be Wednesdays.... January 25 and April 25.
- Bulk Refuse must be placed at the curb either the night before the scheduled date, or very early that morning since collection begins by 5:30 AM. Trucks will not come back through an area to collect bulk refuse placed out after that time.
- Bulk items may include household items such as furniture, large appliances, play equipment, and other types of hard to handle items. The law requires that doors be removed from any refrigerator or freezer in order to protect children. Tires, air conditioners, metal items, car parts, windows, doors, etc. may be included. We do not accept construction materials left by contractors. Please place in an orderly manner. (Free disposal of electronic items is available at our e-cycling drop-off site. Anne Arundel County also provides e-cycling.).
- All loose bulk refuse should be placed into suitable containers, or placed in some manner to facilitate collection.
- Depending on the type of material to be collected, bulk refuse might be left by one of the collection trucks, while the driver requests another, more suitable type of collection equipment.
The City cannot enter private property to collect the discarded bulk refuse, nor will the city collect building materials generated by homeowners or contractors, or material arising from the demolition of buildings.
All tree branches and other yard-recycling items will not be picked up under this program; they will be collected according to your Refuse Schedule.
