Citizen Police Academy

The purpose of the Citizen Police Academy is to educate residents about their local police department. To give you a better understanding of law enforcement, how officers work in the community, and the specific programs offered by the Annapolis Police Department. This program offers a unique, inside look at the training our officers receive and day-to-day operations. Sessions will include classroom learning, field trips, and hands on training. We hope by taking advantage of this opportunity residents and officers will build better relationships and improve understanding.

Session Topics:

  • Overview of the police department
  • Patrol procedures
  • Criminal law
  • K-9 operations
