Announcements from Annapolis Recreation and Parks in relation to COVID-19.

Facilities

"Pip" Moyer Recreation Center 

PMRC is open at 25% capacity. The Department remains vigilant in keeping PMRC clean. This includes disinfecting exercise equipment, the indoor track, meeting rooms, common areas and restrooms. While at PMRC, we ask that you remain 6’ apart from others to maintain physical distancing. Additional hand sanitizing stations have been installed throughout the facility.

PMRC is open daily 6 am to 6 pm. Upon entrance to PMRC, all persons must comply with the following: 

  • receive a temperature check upon entry
  • complete a brief questionnaire
  • wear a face covering or mask at all times:
    • 12/16/2020 — The Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department (ARPD) advises that you do not use ARPD facilities if you are not able to maintain wearing a mask or face covering. Use of the facility without wearing a mask or face covering is prohibited until the Anne Arundel County Health Department issues new or additional guidance.
  • you must bring your own mat to work out at PMRC

The following are closed and/or not available right now:

  • No open play basketball or pickleball
  • Kidz Zone babysitting is closed
  • Rock Climbing Wall is closed
  • Fitness Classes – all in-person fitness classes are canceled indefinitely (please refer to the virtual schedule)
  • Personal Training – personal training sessions are canceled indefinitely 

To Note: If you are requesting an extension of your membership (to be put on hold) as a result of the December 10, 2020 announcement regarding fitness classes and personal training canceled indefinitely, please email Melissa Brown at mnbrown@annaapolis.gov.

Rentals are assigned only to government agencies, non-profit organizations, for-profit organizations and other types of organizational meetings. Please note that PMRC is open at 50% capacity and therefore meeting attendance must be reduced to abide by that allowance. We are not renting rooms for birthday, holiday, anniversary, family and/or graduation celebrations at this time.

Stanton Community Center

Stanton is open daily 8 am to 6 pm at 25% capacity.

The Department remains vigilant in keeping Stanton clean. This includes disinfecting the gym, meeting rooms, common areas and restrooms. While at Stanton, we ask that you remain 6’ apart from others to maintain physical distancing. Additional hand sanitizing stations have been installed throughout the facility. Upon entrance to Stanton, all persons must comply with the following:

  • wear a face covering or mask:

The Dental Clinic remains closed. There is no open play, pick up or organized play for basketball at the Stanton Center at this time.

Rentals are assigned only to government agencies, non-profit organizations, for-profit organizations and other types of organizational meetings. We are not renting rooms or the facility for birthday, holiday, anniversary, family and/or graduation celebrations at this time.

Parks, Trails and Outdoor Spaces

  • The following are OPEN and/or PERMITTED:
    • Outdoor Restrooms
    • Pavilions
    • Playgrounds
    • Truxtun Skate Park
    • Outdoor basketball courts and athletics fields. However, no organized sports or scrimmages may occur on the courts or fields -- only free play, basic skills and training/conditioning may take place.
    • Jogging, walking, biking and hiking in City parks and trails
    • Truxtun Park and Tucker Street boat ramps
    • Waterworks Park (permit only)
    • Truxtun Park Tennis Courts - please note ONLY three tennis courts are open at this time; first-come, first-serve
  • Please remember physical distancing practices (taken from Maryland DNR):

    • Limit groups to 10 people, stay 6 feet apart
    • Avoid popular trails, give others plenty of space
    • Allow adequate personal spacing at popular areas
    • Avoid congregating in parking lots
  • The following are CLOSED and/or NOT ALLOWED:
    • Outdoor water fountains
    • Large gatherings/picnics
    • Truxtun Park Courts - most tennis courts and all pickleball courts remain under renovation/construction

Harbormaster

PUMPOUT IS IN SERVICE! The Pumpout Boat runs Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Call 410-320-6852 or VHF 17 for service.

Hours of Operation are daily from 7 am to 8 pm. We appreciate continued patience as we strive to protect employees and customers as much as possible.
