“Pip” Moyer Recreation Center Closed Due to Snow

Annapolis, MD (1-13-19) The Annapolis Recreation and Parks "Pip" Moyer Recreation Center will be closed today, Sunday, January 13, due to the snow. All Recreation and Parks activities scheduled for today are cancelled. The Annapolis Department of Transportation is operating buses on the regular Sunday schedule today. Anyone in need of shelter should call the Annapolis Office of Emergency Management at 410-216-9167.

Annapolis Public Works is responding to a Phase I Snow Emergency. Please avoid traveling to let the plow crews clear the roads. If you must travel, please slow down and exercise caution. Several minor traffic accidents were reported to police overnight. The roads are slippery and snow covered. For more information about plowing operations visit https://www.annapolis.gov/730/Snow-Information.

The City of Annapolis remains under a Winter Storm Warning. We can expect more heavy snow before 11 a.m., then a mixture of snow and sleet with a high near 34 degrees. Snowfall should continue throughout the day and stop around 2 a.m. Monday, January 14.

Please Note:

Annapolis Recreation and Parks ("Pip" Moyer Recreation Center and Stanton Community Center) follows the weather emergency plans issued by the City of Annapolis.
For example, if the City is closed for snow, then the Annapolis Recreation and Parks facilities are closed. If there is a delayed opening or an early closing issued by the City, the facilities will also follow that schedule. For further information, please visit the Department's Cancellations and Inclement Weather page.
