Simplify Your Intern Hiring

The inMD platform is a new website designed to help streamline the internship finding and hiring process for both employers and job-seeking students. Government agencies, the Maryland Tech Council and some local technology companies partnered on the platform.

Guidance to Start and Grow Your Business

The Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) Entrepreneurial Studies Institute helps you start and/or grow your business venture. Learn more about classes offered this spring, apply for the $12,000 Ratcliffe Scholarship or apply for AACC’s $100,000 Business Pitch Competition.

Bridge Loans for Nonprofits

The Maryland Department of Commerce, in partnership with the Maryland Nonprofit Development Center, is now accepting applications from nonprofit organizations seeking short-term operational support. The Nonprofit, Interest-Free, Micro Bridge Loan (NIMBL) provides funding up to $25,000 to qualifying Section 501(c) (3), (4) or (6) nonprofits between the award date of a government grant or contract and the actual receipt of those funds. The Maryland Nonprofit Development Center offers free technical assistance for nonprofit organizations of less than $750,000.

Travel Awards Enhance Businesses

A dozen Anne Arundel County-based small businesses, two of which are located in Annapolis, have taken advantage of the Runway to Success Program Powered by Southwest Airlines. The program, which is an initiative of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC), provides a Southwest Airlines roundtrip flight e-pass to qualified companies wishing to travel outside of Maryland to enhance their marketing and sales or provide for workforce training.

Subcontractors Wanted!

The Purple Line is a 16-mile light rail line extending from Bethesda to New Carrollton. Purple Line Transit Partners is offering procurement opportunities for subcontractors who register with its Vendor Database.

Attention Job Seekers 

The Eastport Yacht Club Foundation will bring together students and marine and maritime industry professionals for the Marine and Maritime Career Expo, 02/24/18, 3:00 pm at the Annapolis High School. Over fifty organizations will be on hand to discuss careers in the Marine Trades and the Maritime Sciences as well as educational and apprentice opportunities. 800 job/career seekers are expected to attend this year. 

New Skills Workshops for You and Your Employees

The Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation has launched new workshops at the Career Center in Linthicum, focusing on skills training and career development. AAWDC builds success for individuals by connecting them to up-to-date skills and certifications required by businesses while helping to advance their own careers.

Latino Small Business Training and Loans

Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) offers Spanish-language trainings on diverse topics ranging from how to start your own business to workshops related to business planning, financial management, incorporation, licensing and permitting, accounting, marketing, and social media. The program also connects entrepreneurs of all backgrounds with a one-on-one small business coaching service on topics ranging from recordkeeping to marketing. LEDC's Micro-Lending Program provides business loans between $5,000 and $50,000 to qualified start-ups and existing businesses.
