Marc Rodriguez

Marc is currently Special Assistant to Alderman Jared Littmann. He has worked with Alderman Littmann on Ward 5 and City issues since January 2016, and has helped address the challenges of our underserved communities.

As Special Assistant, he:
  • Assists in drafting legislation and policy initiatives for the City Council on topics including public safety, forest conservation, economic & community development, amongst others;
  • Helps identify and coordinate outreach activities with the Hispanic/Latino community as strategic advocate for this constituency;
  • Supports the Alderman at City Council meetings and Housing & Human Welfare Committee and Environmental Matters Committee work sessions. 
 Marc also serves on the boards of Seeds 4 Success, Monarch Academy Anne Arundel, Anne Arundel Conflict Resolution Center, and Annapolis Opera.

Previously, Marc had a strong business career in both the United States and abroad. He worked in the financial services industry in China, where he helped found the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and was elected its second president for a 2 -year term.

He later joined a boutique- consulting firm that focused on supporting business development projects between Latin America and China. He now wants his experiences in both business and government to serve Annapolis as your Alderman.

Marc grew up in Mexico to an American mother and Mexican father and completed his primary and secondary education in Mexico City, while spending his summers in Annapolis and his 11th grade year at Key School. The time Marc spent in Annapolis during his formative years had a profound impact on him, which he credits to his active involvement in the community. He was a member of the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra where he played the violin. He also rowed at the Annapolis Rowing Club, which led to a successful tenure in collegiate and national - team level rowing. Marc’s mother and aunt currently teach at Annapolis High School, and his Uncle Joe Suriano recently retired after 35 years as head coach of the Naval Academy’s diving team.

Marc received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan and currently works as the Executive Director for the Democratic Party Committee Abroad, a political organization that engages Americans living overseas.
